Safeguarding 

SEN WORLD is committed to Child Protection and Safeguarding.

Central to our work is the protection of vulnerable children and adults.

Evidence of all vetting and safeguarding checks are scanned and recorded on our database.

 

Recruitment Procedures include:

• A face-to-face interview.  (where appropriate)

• Identification check – against a passport, national ID card or photo

driving licence, and where necessary sight of marriage, divorce or other

change of name certificates.

• Proof of National Insurance number.

• Date of birth check – against a passport, national ID card, birth

certificate, photo driving licence.

• Proof of address – recent letter from bank, utility or council tax bill.

• Qualifications verification – sight of originals or verification with the

issuing institution.

• Right to work – passports are checked for the right to work in the UK.

• CV check – CVs must be complete and any gaps must be accounted for.

• Disclosure and Barring service (UK and overseas if applicable) – all

candidates must complete an Enhanced Disclosure unless. In addition, all

candidates from overseas, or teachers who have taught overseas, must

have a current police clearance from the relevant country.

• Disqualification by Association – all relevant staff in relevant settings

must be asked to complete a disqualification declaration affirming that

they are not disqualified.

• Barred List Search check – as part of the recruitment process and then

annually.

• TRN Number and QTS/QTLS Date (or overseas equivalent if applicable) –

for qualified teachers.  SEN WORLD requires documentary evidence of QTS and

or QTLS where applicable.

• GTCS Registration – for candidates wishing to teach in Scotland.

• Medical fitness to teach – Health questionnaire completed for all

teachers and support staff.

• References – a minimum of two written references with completed

Safeguarding Questionnaires, one from the last or most recent employer

including at least one from an educational organisation. For NQTs this

may be from a university and/or teaching practice school.

 

Online Clinic

• Disclosure and Barring service (UK and overseas if applicable) – all

candidates must complete an Enhanced Disclosure unless. In addition, all

candidates from overseas, or teachers who have taught overseas, must

have a current police clearance from the relevant country.

• Disqualification by Association – all relevant staff in relevant settings

must be asked to complete a disqualification declaration affirming that

they are not disqualified.

• Barred List Search check – as part of the recruitment process and then

A Photo ID Security Vetting and Safeguarding email detailing the above is sent to all Schools before an Assignment for your Single Central Record.
