The awesome Ali Stroker is shining the spotlight on inclusion on Broadway. Ali originally made history as the first performer to be cast in an off -Broadway show in the Rogers and Hammerstein classic Oklahoma. Ali then went on to appear in Glee as a guest start.
Ali has been using a wheelchair since a car accident at 2 years old. The accident left her paralysed from the chest down. Ali is really encouraged by the approach Broadway is now taking to being more inclusive.
“I remember in college, always considering Oklahoma! and Rodgers and Hammerstein being like classical musical theatre, if there is such a thing,” the actor says. “To have people that are diverse playing those roles, I think just adds something really exciting to the production and the story.”
